Malicious spam is on the rise

THE RUSSIAN insecurity firm Kaspersky Labs reports that the number of spam messages with malicous attachments doubled in the last three months.
The percentage of messages that include malicious attachments shot up to 4.6 per cent according to Kaspersky, which said that in the previous three months the rate was only 1.9 per cent. The quarter also included an all time high with the percentage of malicious attachments hitting 6.3 per cent at the start of the quarter.
Predictably perhaps, the rise has been put down to the fact that spammers have started to work with partners, such as those looking to spread malware. For the main part the spam messages were fake notifications from social notworking sites including Twitter, Facebook and Myspace and online games like World of Warcraft.
"The increase in the volume and quality of mass malicious mailings confirms that spammers and cybercriminals have started acting in unison to create complex infection strategies, which include connecting a victim computer to a botnet, sending out spam, stealing personal information and so on," said Darya Gudkova, head of content analysis and research at Kaspersky Lab.

LONDON (AFP) - A member of an international crime ring which bought fake Viagra and drugs against baldness from factories in Asia before selling them on to unsuspecting customers at a huge profit has been jailed in Britain.
They all think you're joking - but I heard it on the radio this morning ! ! !

On the baldness issue. Any bloke who thinks there's a cure for baldness should ask himself this simple question.
How come, if there's a cure for baldness, are there so many rich men in the world with bald heads?
