17 years old and erection problems..help!?

I am a 17 year old boy and have been having erection problems for the last month. About 1 month ago I tried to have sex with my girlfriend for the first time but I couldnt get hard. Ever since then, getting an erection hasnt been as easy, and when I do manage to get one it is never as hard as it used to be. This doesnt just happen when i'm with my girlfriend, it's all the time! This has never happened to me before, I've always been sexually healthy until this past month, i am also a virgin. I have seen my gp and he took my blood pressure, which was a perfectly normal level, and told me that it is just psychological and i neeed to relax, but how!? I've tried to be relaxed about it and not think about it but so far that hasnt worked.
Anyone have any ideas of how i can get rid of this problem!??
I have considered viagra but i'm very wary of buying it without prescription because clearly there is a reason why it cant be prescribed to under 18s, i'm not sure what negative effects it may have on me, i cant be sure that what i buy is real, and i've been told i dont need it.
I want to solve this problem because my girlfriend and I want to have a sexual relationship, now!! But i havent told her that i have this problem. Many of my friends have started having sex regularly now which doesnt help either.
Any suggestions of how i can get over this safely by taking medication of some sort, or even just ways of relaxing to help me get over it as quickly as possible would be greatly appreciated!!!
It's probably nerves! Although i'm not male, everyone's functions are affected by nerves. If your girlfriend has been 'active' before being with you you may be nervous about living up to what she has had before. Don't worry about anything. It will all come naturally and will prob go back to normal once you've got over this nervousness!

My advice: either one of two things is happening. 1st you have a legitimate erectile dysfunction, and you should seek treatment.
Or 2 - you cannot control your emotions to the point that it is effecting your mind, body and unfortunately your sex life. If you find that during foreplay your mind is too busy racing through thoughts, then your letting your anxiety get the better of you, and you don't get to enjoy whats happening. Again, you get medication for this , but I find anti depressents are over rated.
Get it sorted out, and start enjoying life.
